Welcome Cocktail at the Cuartel de Pavía

The Cuartel de Pavía will host the welcome cocktail. This building, constructed in the 18th century, was part of the defensive and logistical system of the Royal Site of Aranjuez. Although its original function was strictly military, today it is used for cultural activities and institutional events, which has restored some of its prominence in local life.

A little-known fact is that the barracks are named after the Pavía cavalry regiment, which played a significant role in various 19th-century events, including the First Carlist War. Although the building has been renovated several times, it still preserves original elements such as semicircular arches and old stables.

Visit to the Prince's Gardens

The Prince's Gardens are one of the most iconic spaces in the cultural landscape of Aranjuez. Designed in the late 18th century, they were conceived as a recreational garden for the royal family, but also as a space for botanical experimentation. Across more than 150 hectares, you can find species brought from the Americas, Asia, and Africa, many of which were planted in Spain for the first time right here.

During the walk, we will explore some of its most emblematic corners, such as the Casa del Labrador, a small palace that, despite its modest name, is decorated with marble, tapestries, and exotic wood floors. We will also pass by the Estanque de los Chinescos, a surprising spot with oriental-inspired pavilions, reflecting the Enlightenment court’s taste for the exotic.

One of the most interesting aspects of these gardens is how they combine the geometric design of the French tradition with more natural, free-form areas in the English style. This blend of styles reflects the spirit of the time, when nature began to be seen not only as something to be controlled, but also as a source of inspiration.

The visit will be guided, but with enough time to pause, take photos, or simply enjoy the surroundings. It’s a walk that invites calm and observation, and helps us better understand the relationship between nature, art, and power in the history of Aranjuez.

Gala Dinner at La Bodega del Real Cortijo

The gala dinner will take place at La Bodega del Real Cortijo, a venue with over two centuries of history linked to King Charles III. Located on the outskirts of Aranjuez, it was conceived as part of an ambitious Enlightenment agricultural project. Over time, it has belonged to various monarchs and historical figures such as the Prince of Peace and the Duke of Prim, giving it a unique character within Spanish heritage.

Upon arrival, a stone gate flanked by vineyards and a French-style garden leads to an architectural complex that has preserved its essence. Inside, the old underground corridors—where the wines still rest—and the vaulted domes of its inner courtyards evoke times of splendor, but also of political intrigue and power shifts.

The dinner will be held in the old wine press, now transformed into two spacious and elegant halls with five-meter-high ceilings. The atmosphere is calm and unpretentious, allowing guests to enjoy conversation and food in a setting that invites reflection. During the evening, a selection of dishes made with local products will be served, accompanied by wines from the estate’s own cellar.

Beyond the gastronomic experience, it will be an opportunity to share impressions and end the day in a place that, without grand gestures, conveys history and authenticity.
